Seven days after the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, investigators are grappling with a damaged black box, which may need to be sent abroad for data retrieval.

The incident, which claimed 241 lives, has prompted the government to draft new, stringent rules for demolishing obstructions like high-rise buildings and trees near airports to enhance aviation safety.

These draft Aircraft (Demolition of Obstructions) Rules, 2025, aim to prevent future tragedies and underscore the government's commitment to flight path security.
